Transcripts

Every recorded or uploaded meeting produces a transcript: the conversation split into lines, each attributed to a speaker and timestamped against the audio. The transcript is what tasks, documents, and Ask TakeNote_AI draw from, so it is worth getting it right.

Reading the transcript

Each line shows a timestamp, the speaker, and what was said. The audio player stays with the transcript, so you can listen along while you read and check anything that looks off.

Thanks for coming in today, James. I'd like to review your pension arrangements.

Of course. I've been meaning to consolidate the two older pots for a while now.

Great — let's start with the Aviva plan and look at the current transfer value.

A meeting transcript: search and copy, renamed speakers, timestamped lines, and the audio player.

Jumping to the audio

Select the timestamp at the start of any line to jump the audio player to that exact moment and play from there. It is the quickest way to confirm a figure or a name against what was actually said.

Naming speakers

Transcription labels speakers generically — Speaker A, Speaker B, and so on. Select a speaker chip to rename it, for example to the client's name. The name updates across the whole transcript and is saved, so it carries through to copies and generated documents.

Correcting and searching

You can edit the text of any line to fix a misheard word or figure; changes save automatically. Use Search transcript… to filter to the lines that mention a term, and Copy to copy the full transcript — grouped by speaker and reflecting your edits — to the clipboard.
